Inspired by our attendance at a Christmas Market in the lush and plentiful gardens of the visually pleasing British Embassy last weekend, we decided to go check out the Canadian Embassy.
To say we were underwhelmed would be kind.
The building stands sandwhiched between its neighbours, like any generic government office building in North America... minus the eye-catching little architectural details that might redeem it somewhat as a beacon of Canadiana abroad. Indeed, it was almost embarassing to pose in front of the exterior coat of arms for a photo, while gazing down the street and across the street at the various other interesting and unique buildings of all shapes and sizes around us, proudly declaring that their countries were not boring, administrative icons of utilitarianism.
