We’d already completed our unit on 3D solids, so this was a good review in Math as well as an excellent chance for the boys to practise their slowly-growing Spanish in a “safe” context.
We also used this opportunity to collect some data from the other students, for a survey question the boys had prepared in Spanish. (Tomorrow during our data management math lesson here at home, we'll use the information from the tally chart to construct a graph -- Smart thinking, Mommy!)

One of the students in the class had a few questions of his own… he pulled out his sheet of “must knows about the Canadians”, and politely asked our interpreter to translate for him, which she obligingly did.
The boys were amused by the interaction, and a new friend was made.

As summer vacation is just about to start here in Argentina, the next time we see our friends here at the school after Christmas, they will be in Grade 4! (School begins again in Feb.) We are hoping their next teacher is as open to visitors as this one has been, as we are looking forward to continuing the cultural exchange.
