Wednesday
Today we arrived at the place we were staying and it was really cool because it was a whole different landscape than North America and Buenos Aires. This landscape was a prairie like habitat that was really dry and hot and had a bunch of different animals to see, like rabbits, mocking birds, hawks and giant beetles, so I was really excited about that. For most of the day today we are just unpacking but tomorrow we are off to see the penguins and I can't wait.
Thursday
Today is the big day when we are going to see the penguins but before we do any of that we must have breakfast. Soon after breakfast we were at the place where the penguins were. We headed out on the path and saw one penguin, then another, and soon enough, penguins were everywhere (even on the path)! These penguins, called Magellanic penguins, were not like the ones in Antarctica because they were much smaller and looked much different too. Another interesting thing about these penguins is that they live in holes under thorny bushes. You may be wondering who digs the holes for the penguins but you should be wondering how the penguins dig the holes for them selves! I don't know how they do it but some how they do.
Friday
After the penguins I thought our trip was kind of over but when my Mom announced that we would be going to see some sea lions and sea elephants I was really exited because I really wanted to see more animals. We hopped in the car and drove off to the sea lions and sea elephants. When we were got there, there was a view point to look down at the beach so we looked and we saw... a whole group of sea lions so I was really excited and I couldn't wait to get down to the beach to see them up close! Next we went to the path that lead down to the beach. The path was really hard to get down because it actually wasn't that much of a path, instead it was an opening in the cliff. We finally got down to the beach and started are hike and on the way to are destination ( the sea lions) we saw an even larger group of sea elephants! The sea elephants were fun and kind of funny because they were just sitting there kind of chilling and not at all territorial but when we got to the sea lions we realized that these guys were totally different. They were much more territorial and aggressive. After all of that it was time to go home and have some sleep because tomorrow we leave!
My trip was really fun and I learned a lot of new things about animals. I also learned how different the city is from the country. I do prefer the city though, probably because I was raised in the city. I liked my trip a lot and I hope I will go on more trips like this in the future.
