Having heard through the ex-pat forums that the already-hard-to-find soy milk we had located at one of the larger grocery stores nearby becomes -- for some mysterious reason -- even more scarce in the summer months, we took a family trip to Jumbo on Santa Fe to stock up.
Luckily, we found that they had just rec'd a shipment, so we calculated how many cartons of soy milk we could get for the $159 pesos we had on us, and proceeded to load up our cart.
On the way to the cash register, however, we were side tracked by.... PUMPKINS!!! Big ones! Worthy-of-hallowe'en-jack-o-lantern-carving pumpkins! And, they were only $7.99 (about a dollar) each!!!
We removed a carton of soy milk, and replaced it with the even rarer and more timely item, and headed off to the check out counter.
*Update, Oct 31 -- looks like the price just went up!! See HERE!*
