"Leche de Soya", was a label I searched for in the first several shops we visited here in BA. But, while there appeared to be dozens of brands of cows milk, soy, rice or almond milk was a whole different kettle of fish.
We purchased a powdered soy drink at a health food shop earlier in the week, but it tasted like, well... uhm... not that good. Desperate to get some vitamin D and calcium into my lactose-intolerant children, I even picked up a small and ridiculously overpriced lactose-free milk. That, too, was rejected.
Finally, I found a soy drink (rather sweet!) at "Jumbo", a large grocery store in Palermo. This was acceptable to the fussy, young palates; I was relieved, as it had both Calcium and Vitamin D, as well as some protein.
Interestingly, the store (and many others, as we have since discovered) also features a number of fruit beverages enriched with soy! It seems to be a thing here. So, I grabbed a few of those, too.
