Our mission: To register Tats and the boys for Club de Amigos. (To any BA-bound expats or tourists reading this: As of the writing of this blog post, CdA now offers 6-month memberships for adults. This is a great deal for families planning to stay in BA for more than a few months, but less than a year! Please note, they do accept USD, but their exchange rate is crap; I highly recommend paying in AR!)
Unfortunately, the fluently English Pablo, who had so graciously answered all our questions last time, was not working this afternoon. But the fellow at the membership counter called a semi-English-speaking colleague, and after about an hour, Tats and the boys were signed up for membership until March; we elected for forgo April - June for now in favour of spending the additional funds instead on a bi-weekly, small group basketball class for the boys in November. But hey, if anyone’s wondering about a practical and portable gift to get us all for Christmas…!!! :)))
The first thing we did once they had their membership cards in hand was head over to the obstacle course/ Big Kid playground...
The boys LOVE this place already, and Tats is in her element: as Alex and Simon's gym teacher, her eyes grew big with the possibilities of the playground alone, never mind the adjacent basketball nets and tennis courts!
And, as an added bonus, the planes from Jorge Newbery (the nearby airport) can be seen departing overhead about every 10 minutes!!! (Inspiration for Tatsy as she prepares for her multi-IFR training in a few months!)
Truly, like the credit card commercial says, "membership has its privileges". We feel very blessed.
