We also talked a little about what the passage might mean, and how it relates to the message in a book we've been reading together.
Next, it was time for "Literacy" -- I've decided to follow a combination of Fountas and Pinell, and Daily Five/Lit Cafe. We began with a brief discussion of choosing books, and where to store them. Then it was time to revisit a picture book we had begun to read together the other day during our "pre-school" meeting, and the boys responded to some follow up questions in their virtual notebooks.
Simon had ordered a book through Amazon a few days ago, and it was supposed to take about 6 weeks to arrive, but, like clockwork, the enter phone rung just as we started our recess break, and sure enough, the delivery fellow at the door downstairs handed us a slim package from the bookstore!
Now they are working on some homework while we wait for Tats to come back from her morning, so that we can have lunch together before the boys head off with Tats for Science and Phys Ed while I run some errands and do some planning for the rest of the week.
So far, a successful start to the home schooling endeavors here in BA!
