Back to Barrio Chino we went tonight (in Belgrano) for the REAL Chinese New Year celebrations... it was a little wet (it had been raining on and off all day), but there was an excellent turn out nevertheless, and we packed in with the rest of the crowds.
Jeanette (who arrived early Friday morning) bought some Chinese noodles from a local stand and I picked up a skewer of deep fried tofu, but quite frankly, the street food was not stellar!
And array of entertainment was available on a central stage, around which thousands of people crowded. Flags of several countries were hung across the square, too -- Alex and Simon were very impressed: "Look, Mom, the Canadian flag!" Throngs of people packed the streets and shops and restaurants, too.
The boys set off to find a red monkey (they were born the year of the monkey), and once we found them one, we all agreed it was time to go home to bed!
On the agenda tomorrow: San Telmo, or if it rains, the Art Museum.
