We're On Our Way
This past week I went to Patagonia. We did lots of things and saw lots of creatures. On Thursday we went to see penguins and that's what we came to see but there is a tonne more exciting adventures we had.
Wednesday
On Wednesday we arrived. Apparently we were staying at the most southern lavender farm in the world! My brother Simon and I started to explore the fields of lavender. We saw lots of little furry creatures. The people we stayed with were very nice and so were their pets. They had 3 dogs and 2 cats. The dogs names were Tom, Sasha, and Tao. I don't know the cats' names.
Thursday
On Thursday as I mentioned before we went to see the penguins. The whole of Patagonia was a dry desert but these Magellanic penguins were made for the weather as they don't have thick feathers. Those were smart penguins, they made their houses under bushes and shrubs. Their desert habitat is close to the ocean. It is a great life but when it gets really cold they migrate to Brazil.
Friday
On Friday we had a surprise adventure with seals. It was an hour and a half of a drive to get there. When we got there we had to climb down a rope and scramble down a gigantic cliff to get to the beach below where the elephant seals were. All the seals were either white, grey, or brown. There were lots of female seals leaving only 2 males but those males were giant. They did not mind us being there at all.
Sea lions
We kept walking for a bit and soon we came to some sea lions! They look like real lions because they had hair on there heads. Unlike the elephant seals they were very aggressive. Soon it was time to go. We climbed back up the cliff and jumped into the car and I was tired. I fell asleep in the car.
Feelings
On Saturday we went to the beach but then it was time to go. I was not excited about going on a 20 hour bus ride home to Buenos Aires. I needed 1 more day in Patagonia at the least. Now that I am back in Buenos Aires I did feel the need to write this.
